On a Quest for Peace, Fulfillment, and Expat Life – A shortlist of destinations for expat life is based on our past travels.
Traveling to diverse destinations around the world has undoubtedly enriched our lives with new experiences, cultures, breathtaking landscapes, and excitement. From the sun-kissed beaches of Greece to the majestic fjords of Norway, our journeys have fueled a growing desire to become expats seeking adventure, peace, and fulfillment. In a society plagued by stress-inducing issues like mass shootings, political unrest, unkindness, overwork exploitation, and the weakening of the U.S. dollar, the search for a tranquil and purposeful expat life has gained tremendous appeal for us. A place to restore my faith in humanity. It is a pull that continuously reminds me all signs on the road lead to having options. It’s time to make a move now so we delve into some of the promising destinations that we have traveled to that offer the best opportunities for a fulfilling expat living experience. Of course, that destination can’t be too far. We must be able to travel back & forth see to family and friends every so often.

The country has a rich history and cultural heritage, coupled with its friendly locals, creating an inviting atmosphere for expat living. Portugal: Where Old World Charm Meets A Thriving Modern Community.

Portugal radiates an irresistible blend of old-world charm, contemporary vitality, and a modern community vibe. Expats find themselves captivated by the city’s cobblestone streets, colorful tiled buildings, and panoramic views. Portugal offers a pleasurable climate, a rich cultural scene, and a relatively affordable cost of living compared to other European capitals. The average cost of dinner per person is approximately $16 per person and you never feel rushed to finish a meal. Portuguese dining is a time to savor your food and enjoy your companions. The city’s warm and welcoming locals embrace expats, and there is also a thriving black/brown expat community creating a sense of community and making it an appealing destination for those seeking a peaceful and fulfilling expat lifestyle. The decision to embark on our expat journey depends on our personal preferences, lifestyle, cost of living, healthcare, safety, and the ability to get back to the States every so often. Your shortlist and decision to embark may look different. By thoroughly researching and considering a dozen of factors, I hope we can find the close-to-perfect place, I know there is no utopia, no perfect place or country, except for heaven but I think it’s worth the effort to pursue a life of peace, adventure, purpose, outreach, and community. Ultimately, the key lies in discovering a destination that aligns with us.
